Indoor Skateboarding at the Aberdeen Pavilion - An Update

As many Ottawa skaters remember, a free indoor skateboarding pilot program ran at the Aberdeen pavilion, twice a week over the winter months of 2021, 2022, and 2023. It was an outstanding success in every way and ran smoothly with assistance from us and the Ottawa Skateboarding Association. We were told that the program needed to be paused for the 2024 winter season due to construction that was scheduled to take place at the pavilion. Those construction plans were delayed first until 2025, then until 2026. When we heard that these plans have been delayed once again, we immediately asked for the city to “un-pause” the indoor skateboarding program. Although we’ve made progress in getting this program back up and running, we haven’t been able to get the approval to make it free. After much back and forth, we’ve decided to pay the pavilion’s rental fee and charge admission to cover the cost. We were only offered Wednesday evenings (7-9PM) from December 10 to mid March, with a pause in between for the holidays. You can purchase admission tickets to sessions in store or online by clicking here. All of the relevant details are included in the online product description.
