Returns & Exchanges

Return Window
You have 30 days from the shipping date of your order to return any unused items. All returned items must be unwashed, unused, and in their original condition with tags attached.

Final Sale Items
Items marked as final sale cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded — even for a different size. These items will be clearly identified on the product page, in your cart, and at checkout. Discounted items may still be eligible for return unless marked otherwise.


How to Return an Item

Step 1: Contact Us
Send us an email at info@birlingtheottawa.com to start your return or exchange.

Step 2: Repackage Carefully
Most orders are shipped in resealable bags or cardboard boxes — feel free to reuse them if they’re in good shape.
Make sure:

  • All original tags are attached (removing sewn-in or hang tags will void your return).

Items are in new, unworn condition. Items are returned in original packaging when possible. Do not apply tape or labels directly to shoe boxes or branded packaging — place them inside another box or bag.

Step 3: Ship It Back
Include a copy of your packing slip and ship your return to:

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and logistics. We recommend using a trackable service.  


Processing & Refunds

Returns are processed within 7 business days after they arrive at the shop. Original shipping fees are not refundable.


Exchanges

If you'd like to exchange an item for a different size or colour, the fastest way is to place a new order and return the original item. Let us know, and we’ll help arrange everything smoothly.


Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order upon arrival. If something’s off, contact us within 7 days and include photos if possible. Items must be returned in unused condition before we can issue a refund or exchange.


In-Store Returns

You can return or exchange online purchases in-store within 30 days of the shipping date. Bring your receipt. (Note: No in-store returns or exchanges between December 26–29.)


Holiday Returns

Orders placed between November 1st and December 24th can be returned up until January 31st, online or in-store. Just make sure your claim is submitted by that date.


Delivery Issues / Return to Sender

If a package is sent to an incorrect address or left unclaimed and returned to us, we may charge a re-shipping fee. Please double-check your address at checkout.
