The Tavern Deck - Wednesdays

Since the 80s, Ottawa’s legendary Carleton Tavern has played host to a few generations of Hintonburg's ongoing animation scene. Just around the corner from Ottawa's original animation studio, Hinton Animation Studios, The Tavern has been the choice spot for animators to sip, sketch, and talk smack about movies and deadlines. As an animator himself, Birling co-owner and designer, Captain Tom, has enjoyed making this a part of his weekly routine in the winter, by sketching the patrons and surrounding scenery over a pint or two while talking smack with pals. Birling's 2022 spring collection is a love letter to the Tavern for promoting loitering and for providing a space for local artists’ creative juices to stay flowing throughout Ottawa's cold, dark winters. The veneers in each skateboard deck are chosen at random, so the ply colours of the board we ship you may very slightly from what you see here. All deck purchases include a sheet of Jessup grip tape. Please let us know if you would like your deck gripped before it’s shipped.

We are located downtown Ottawa, Canada. We send shipments every Tuesday and Friday. If you need something faster please just call the shop and ask. We will be happy to help get something to you faster when possible! If you live in the capital you may opt to pick up your order in store.
